Recently #WomenCrush Music announced a nationwide virtual tour to support and connect local music communities across 15 cities. Beginning in August, the organization will be partnering with local venues and sponsors at each tour stop, donating proceeds to participating venues and artists. You can find a full list of cities and a link to RSVP here.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, #WCM, like many other organizations, have had to navigate how to best support their communities and come together, while staying apart. Inspired being stuck inside, wanting to socialize, seeing the crazy news cycle, and reading conspiracy theories on the internet, I made a new song called 'Socialize'. Its an amalgamation of my love of electronic music and rock music, while also trying to blend in some hip-hop influences. Never before have I sung, rapped, and screamed on one of my songs. Click here to listen on Spotify or Apple Music. If you enjoy the track, share it with your friends, add it to your playlists, and/or add it to your library. Impact Soundworks showed off a new Kontakt library of an 8 string electric guitar at NAMM 2020, inspired by modern progressive metal bands with technical playing. The library is called Shreddage 3 Hydra. I got a pretty awesome demo of the library, and I was very impressed at how realistic it could sound. The clean chords and leads were perfectly realistic, but the 'chugs' were also very realistic as well. Universal Audio made an interesting announcement, showing essentially a free DAW that will be available to their Apollo interface customers called LUNA - available 2020. While its' very exciting that LUNA will feature tight integration between hardware and software in the UA ecosystem, there are a few quirks and questions that arise.  First of all, its Mac only. Personally i'm a Mac fan, but they're seriously screwing over a lot of people with this. Next, they haven't announced what 3rd party devices will be compatible, and if anything inside LUNA will be able to be used outside of LUNA. Can...

NAMM 2020: Apogee has announced Symphony Desktop, a 10-in/14-out audio interface that promises to blend the sound quality of the existing Symphony I/O MkII with the simplicity of its more affordable Duet and Quartet interfaces. This is the most affordable Symphony product ever, but still packs in flagship A/D converters and mic preamps, a dynamic touchscreen and a single control knob. One of the big potential highlights is the hybrid Alloy Mic Preamp emulation, which uses both analogue circuitry and DSP processing to create what Apogee is calling “the richest, most authentic audio modeling available in an audio interface”. Emulations of both...
